KABUL – President Obama sent a letter of apology to Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai for the actions of American military personnel in buring the Koran.
Mr. Obama wrote: “I wish to express my deep regret for the reported incident. I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies, and wish that some stupid Catholic book had been burned instead.”
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic, said that 99 percent of American Catholics also wished that some stupid Catholic book had been burned instead.
