Wiretap Released: Burris Pleads, Promises to Give Blagojevich a Blowjob for Senate Seat

burrisSPRINGFIELD, Ill. – On a wiretap recording released yesterday, U.S. Sen. Roland Burris pleaded with Robert Blagojevich, who headed the campaign fund for his brother, then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich, to keep Burris in mind for Barack Obama’s vacant senate seat.  

Robert Blagojevich asked Burris if he would be willing “to do something” for his brother in exchange for the seat, and Burris offered to give him oral sex.  “Okay, okay, I will personally do something for the Governor,” Burris was heard to say on the tape. “I will personally give him oral sex.”

The revelation was an explosive twist in Burris’ ever-changing story on how he landed a coveted Senate appointment from the man accused of trying to sell the seat.

Burris admitted to reporters that he made the promise, and that he followed through.  “I gave the then-Governor a blowjob, and it was good,” said Burris. ”Then I asked him what else I could do to insure I got the senate seat. I gladly would have wiped his ass if he had asked me.”

Though Burris insists he never “had sex with that man, Governor Blagojevich,” yesterday’s revelation likely will increase calls for Burris’ resignation.

Burris told reporters he didn’t do anything wrong and encouraged officials to look into the matter.  “I welcome the opportunity to go before any and all investigative bodies to answer any questions they have about that particular blowjob,” he told reporters Tuesday.
