Jetliner Bird StrikeDENVER - The FAA said that a United Airlines jet returned safely to the Denver airport after a copycat bird was sucked into one of its engines shortly after takeoff.

“This bird gave every indication that he was imitatating the birds that forced the US Airways jet to land in the Hudson River,” said ornithology psychologist Dr. Velveeta Lugosi-Alou.  “Just like the birds on that suicide mission, this one was seeking notoriety and immortality.”

Dr. Lugosi-Alou does not think we have seen the end of the cycle.  “For the foreseeable future, pilots need to be very careful of imitation assaults by birds looking to make a name for themselves.”
